When you are overseas, gain access to our team of doctors who will evaluate and determine if you are receiving appropriate and adequate medical care. If necessary, we will arrange medical transport services to transfer you to an adequate facility better suited for your medical need.

We indemnify the cost of medical transportation even if resulting from a pre-existing medical condition. Enjoy direct repatriation benefits – you have the option of being repatriated directly to your country of domicile instead of the nearest medical centre of excellence.

We have access to air ambulances worldwide that are fully equipped with the latest medical equipment. Our medical teams are able to perform the most complicated transfers and support the most critical patients. To date, we have completed more than 8000 missions, of which more than 100 were patients on artificial life support (ECMO).

Pre-Existing Illness Cover

Your health should not dampen the spirit of adventure. Our membership looks beyond your current state of health and we will indemnify your medical transport even with a pre-existing illnesses. Traditional insurers will spend up to 72 hours to determine if you have an existing condition, which significantly delays activation even if have no prior medical history.

Repatriation of Mortal Remains

In the untimely demise of a member, we will arrange and indemnify the cost of transporting mortal remains back home to the country of origin.

Compassionate Visit

We will help to arrange and provide tickets for up to 2 of your family members to visit you at your location if you are not medically fit-to-fly.

Return of Dependent Children

Return of Dependent Children

If a medical emergency occurs while you have dependents with you, we will chaperone and escort them back via a commercial airline where they will be safe and sound.

Worldwide: All countries except excluded countries

Excluded Countries: Israel, Iran, Syria, Belarus, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Zimbabwe, and all other sanctioned and war-declared countries.

SCOPE OF SERVICES
As a HOMESAFE Member, you are entitled to the following scope of services via our 24/7 Assistance Centre.

Pre- Trip Medical Advice
You can call EMA Global anytime to access information on medical situations in the country you are travelling to. More importantly, to understand what is available as well as quality of medical care available.

Medical Services at destination
Upon arrival at your destination, you can also reach out to EMA GLOBAL to access local medical facilities and if necessary, to help make medical appointments.

Medical Emergency Services
When a medical emergency occurs during your trip, call EMA GLOBAL at any time for help especially if you are unsure of the standard, quality and adequacy of the medical facilities at your destination.

Emergency Medical Evacuations/Repatriations
If you are hospitalized for any reason during your trip, we can help you determine if the medical facility is adequate to treat your medical condition and if not, whether a medical evacuation or repatriation is necessary. The costs incurred from any form of medical transportation will be covered under the membership program.

Family Care

  • If you have been hospitalized during your trip for a period of not less than 72 hours, you can request EMA GLOBAL to arrange for a family member to look after you. A paid return economy class ticket is a Membership benefit.
  • If, as a result of your hospitalization, you have young children who needs to be returned home first, EMA GLOBAL will arrange and pay for a one-way ticket for the child/children and also provide a chaperone if required.

Repatriation of Mortal Remains
In the unfortunate event of a Member’s demise during a trip, EMA GLOBAL may arrange for the remains to be returned home or arrange for a burial at the place of demise as required.

Exclusions
EMA GLOBAL shall not pay or be responsible for the provision of any of Assistance Services or reserve the right to recover any expenses for any Assistance Services set out in this Membership Program for:

  • Expenses for a service not approved and arranged by EMA GLOBAL;
  • If in the opinion of EMA GLOBAL, You have elected to seek treatment outside of Your home country without the medical necessity to do so;
  • EMA GLOBAL has information or is of the opinion that treatment for your medical condition is an exclusion under this Membership Program;
  • Any treatment performed or ordered by a person who is not a Registered Medical Practitioner or Specialist.
  • Cosmetic or plastic surgery
  • Suicide, self-destruction, self-inflicted injury or any attempt thereat whether sane or insane
  • Endemic and/or epidemic illness
  • Childbirth or pregnancy and complications arising from pregnancies notwithstanding that such Injury may have been accelerated or induced by accident
  • Mental defect or infirmity, intoxication, drug addiction or the influence of alcohol
  • All types of sexually transmitted diseases, HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and/or any HIV related illness including AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) and/or any mutant derivative or variations thereof however caused
  • Engaging in aviation other than as a fare-paying passenger in an aircraft provided and operated by an airline or air charter company which is duly licensed for the regular transportation of fare-paying passengers
  • Engaging in motor rallies or any kind of race (other than on foot) or trial of speed or reliability
  • Illegal or fraudulent acts
  • Use of drugs, narcotics and/or related elements
  • Deliveries and complications arising from pregnancies
